چکیده

Ventilatory demand during exercise is met by increased volume and airflow. They require higher negative pleural pressure (Pes) which peak ranges from 49% to 90% of maximal pressure generating capacity (Pcap) of the respiratory muscles during both incremental maximal and endurance exercise. In these conditions the diaphragm progressively reduces over time its relative pressure contribution (Pdi) to total inspiratory muscle output (Pdi/Pes). Studies employing non-volitional methods have demonstrated that high-intensity whole body exercise endurance (485% VO2max) induces global respiratory muscle fatigue. In this context, the functional significance of improved respiratory muscle function with respiratory muscle training (RMT) would presumably be to prevent or delay the diaphragm fatigue that is known to occur during sustained high-intensity exercise. Comparison of Respiratory Muscle Electromyography between Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis and Healthy Subjects

Purpose: Scoliosis is one of the most common spinal deformities that affect chest wall mechanics. Scoliosis results in ventilator disorders and respiratory muscle weakness. However, the mechanism of these disorders is still unknown. The main objective of this study was to identify the intensity of respiratory muscles activity in patients with idiopathic scoliosis compare with healthy indi...

Clinical intervention in chronic respiratory failure.

D espite the obvious partnership of the lungs and the respiratory muscles in ventilation and gas exchange, only within the past 10 years has the possible contribution ofthe respiratory muscles to chronic respiratory failure been investigated in any detail. The opinion has been challenged that the respiratory muscles, albeit a vital pump, are not immune to fatigue.' Increase in the elastic and r...

Effect chest wall restriction in water on aerobic power, cardio-respiratory functions and swimming performance of elite female swimmers

This study is aimed to evaluate the effect of 4 weeks swimming training with chest wall restriction on aerobic power, cardio-respiratory functions and swimming performance of elite female swimmers. 24 elite female swimmers volunteered to participate in this study and were randomly divide into two groups: Control (swimming training without chest wall restriction) and experimental group (swi...

Breathless Legs? Consider Training Your Respiration.

The condition of the respiratory system is more important for endurance exercise performance of healthy subjects than hitherto assumed. Not only do respiratory muscles fatigue during intensive endurance exercise, but prefatigued respiratory muscles can also impair performance. In turn, respiratory endurance training can improve endurance exercise performance.

Changes of Nerve - Muscle Performance of Elderly Men in Response to Whole Body Vibration

Background and Aims: Whole body vibration exercise by affecting the neuromuscular system and mechanical mechanisms increase muscles strength. This study investigated the effect of whole body vibration training on neuromuscular function of elderly men. Methods: Based on a randomized controlled trial design, 72 retired elderly men with a mean age of 73.00 ± 2.67 years participated in thisstudy. A...
